Arlo’s New Smart Security Camera Is Wire-Free & Improved in Every Way

Arlo, the popular smart home connected camera brand, has announced the Arlo Ultra Wire-Free Camera System. We’ve covered the original Arlo home cameras previously, so we are excited that the brand is continuing to create updates to the product.

There are plenty of user-requested updates coming to the Ultra series of Arlo, including 4k UHD image resolution, 180-degree viewing angles, auto tracking (with zoom functionality) activity zones, which is great for identifying spots in your home that would activate the cameras tracking such as light from outdoors triggering it. The Arlo Ultra also comes with Color Night vision, one of the most sought over features that I personally wanted from the original Arlo that will for sure come in handy for others. There’s a magnetic mount so no need to worry about a messy setup process. Courtesy of an all-new SmartHub BaseStation, you’ll also receive a bundled one-year subscription of Arlo Smart Premier service which gives you the ability to check on your home backdated 30 days which is perfect for looking back and keeping track of your home.

“Arlo Ultra pushes the boundaries of image and audio quality with an incredibly compact form factor that’s true to Arlo’s heritage of simple setup and ease-of-use, marking a massive leap forward in surveillance for the do-it-yourself smart home security market,” said Pat Collins, senior vice president of Arlo products. “Our new flagship wire-free camera represents major advancements in video, audio, software, AI, and computer vision capabilities. Arlo Ultra is a complete solution for users who desire the best possible protection for their home or business, as well as the most ideal experience for connecting remotely with loved ones for maximum peace of mind.”

While we don’t have a price just yet, we expect the Arlo Ultra to drop in the first quarter of 2019, and I should be reviewing it in the next few months so stay tuned, and check out Arlo’s site for more information.
