Joby Tripod Stands Are a Great Way to Get the Perfect Shot

Joby Tripod Stands Are a Great Way to Get the Perfect Shot

If you’re looking for a great way to stand your phone upright, take endless family photos without using a selfie stick, or just need a stable setting for your devices, you should check out one of these two Joby stands.

I received both the Joby GripTight Pro Tripod and the Joby GripTight GorillaPod Stand Pro for iPhone, and I’ve been using them both the past few months for not just taking family photos and videos, but when I record my podcast, it’s a great help to have them both when my co-hosts and I decide to go live via Facebook and Instagram on our smartphones. So let’s start with the GripTight Pro Tripod.

The Joby GripTight Pro tripod is currently listed on Amazon for $99.95, and it’s essentially a do-all stand for your phone that not only allows you to adjust to fit an iPhone or Android, but it also works with many point and shoot cameras, including GoPros.

What I enjoy the most about the GripTight Pro Tripod is there is an included Bluetooth shutter remote that allows you (after you’ve activated the camera or video mode on your device) to take pictures from a distance by just a press of the button. This has helped a great deal for our family trips as well as when we take group photos. I can set the Pro Telepod on a countertop, grab the shutter and take endless amounts of photos. This comes in handy when you have in-laws who attempt to use the self-timer but can’t run across the room to get in the shot. What’s more, the GripTight Pro Telepod can double as a selfie stick, for those times when you might need one. Extending from 13.5 inches to 31 inches, if you’re at a concert that allows it, or a function that requires standing to get that selfie, the GripTight Pro Telepod will get it done for you. Next, there’s the GripTight GorillaPod Stand Pro, which works for any smartphone, with or without a phone case on it. This comes in handy with my iPhone XS Max that for the most part doesn’t fit many standard car mounts, or my previously reviewed tripod stand by Joby. Built of ABS plastic, TPE and stainless steel, the GorillaPod Stand Pro is one of Joby‘s more popular stands, thanks to the flexible nature of the legs of the stand.

Being able to view in both landscape and portrait mode with the adjustable secure holder, the Stand Pro allows you to wrap its stand legs around objects for that perfect shot regardless where you are. A flexible stand means that not only will you be able to wrap the stand around things such as a desk lamp, or a few branches of a tree if you’re outdoors, when indoors you can also adjust it to fit your every need, like in my case where I set it directly next to my Mic in the event I need to read off show notes, or have a caller dial in. The GripTight GorillaPod Stand Pro by Joby is a bit cheaper at $59.95, but it has functionalities that are unique to the brand, and I’ve yet to find a better, more useful tripod stand on the market. You can purchase the GripTight Stand Pro here.

What I Like: Both are durable enough to be tossed in a backpack for travel, although I have taken a liking to the Stand Pro for its flexibility.
