Netgear Orbi Mesh System Gives You GigaBit Home Internet

It seems like every year, Netgear gets better and better; today they have announced that their award-winning Orbi Whole Home Wi-Fi System, which utilizes patented Fastlane3 technology, will soon be available using 6th generation Wi-Fi, 802.11ax, or Wi-Fi 6.

Since personally updating to Gigabit home internet, this is one feature that I’ve been waiting for a home meshing system to include. Netgear arguably has the best one on the market to date, so I’m excited about this announcement. Utilizing Fastlane 3 technology, the Orbi will soon be able to use Wi-Fi set to break new performance benchmarks all while delivering sustainable gigabit internet speeds for your home.

By adding 1024 QAM with a 4X4 Wi-Fi 6 backhaul, users will experience increased speeds, coverage and capacity on their dedicated wireless network filtered between the Orbi router and the satellites. Adding to that, there’s now an advanced Qualcomm quad-core processor that will be able to handle higher streams, which is perfect for someone who’s planning on cord-cutting or families who tend to watch on multiple devices. Wi-Fi 6 has been all of the rage leading into CES 2019, so it’s good to see the next generation Orbi system giving consumers high-bandwidth internet strengths on all of their connected devices. The Orbi will effortlessly support ultra-high speeds, and I personally can’t wait.

“NETGEAR, together with our technology partner Qualcomm, is committed to pushing the boundaries with innovative technology,” said David Henry, senior vice president of Connected Home Products for NETGEAR. “With the current trend of more devices consuming ever more data, there is an abundant need for the wireless network to keep up. Bringing the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology, 802.11ax, to the Orbi platform, NETGEAR is taking the best and highest performing mesh Wi-Fi in the world and raising it to the next level.”

Slated to be available for the Orbi BRK50 Series later in 2019, you can find out more information by heading over to Netgear’s site.
