LapDogg Is a Nearly NSFW Phone Stand on Kickstarter

Kickstarter is sort of like the internet’s science fair. You wade through a lot of random stuff to find some cool ideas, but every once in a blue moon you see a project and think “Was no one around to intervene here?” That’s my take on the LapDogg, and not just because it has a weird extra G.

LapDogg Is a Nearly NSFW Phone Stand on Kickstarter

This is nearly NSFW

LapDogg, sadly, is not a way for a dog to sit more comfortably on your lap. Instead, it’s a smartphone or tablet holder that you clip to your pants so you can use your device while having both hands free. The Kickstarter claims this was invented when the power went out during a basketball game and the viewing had to switch to a phone. I’m assuming “basketball game” and “power outage” were just code for “we wanted a hands-free way to watch porn”. Did nobody tell these guys there are these things called “phone stands.

Look, I think it’s weird that someone might want to clip a phone stand to their pants, but hey, what you do with your phone in your home is your business. However, I can’t help but wonder if the design of the LapDogg(ggg) was consciously or subconsciously inspired by “50 Shades of Gray.” This is a family blog, so I’m not going to add any links here, but this weird stand looks like a rubber coated version of a certain type of personal pleasure device. I’ll also note if you’re a fan of Dan Savage’s “Savage Love” that this device even has a base, so, you know, there’s less risk of a truly awkward ER visit that will eventually end up on an Ask Reddit thread.

If you miss belt clip cases and are really psyched by the idea that someone might greet you with “Is that a LapDogg on your belt or do I need to call HR?”, you can back the Kickstarter here. One LapDogg(gggggg) will set you back $20 in the Kickstarter but $36 retail.
