Seems like Apple is being a bit more open to other companies making better quality yet more affordable products than they can, as evidenced by Scosche releasing their new MFi-certified USB-C accessories.

Available for $19.99, Scosche’s C144-SP Strikeline cable is an MFi-certified USB-C to Lightning power cable that not only charges your Apple Lightning devices including your MacBook and iPad, but if you have hard drives and digital cameras that need syncing functionality, it will be fully compatible as well.

If you are a fan of fast-charging (and who wouldn’t be?), the USB-C output will allow you to get your battery level up faster than it would with a traditional 5W charger, up to three times the usual rate, actually.

I know for a fact having all USB Type C enabled cables helps not just with fast charging but with transportability. Scosche even offers a USB-C Power Delivery charger (single port), that you can alternate your cables to charge your devices.

While we are still a little ways away from all devices going the way of USB Type C, it’s a good thing to know that Scosche is planning for the future with both their Strikeline Cable and the Power Delivery Charger.

You can pick up both directly from Scosche’s website.

What I Like: Uniformity, as now you only need one power supply and two cables instead of multiple wall outlets to charge different devices.

What Needs Improvement: A longer length cable would be good
