While I’m no real audiophile, when it comes to quality listening, I will never shy away from a good set of earphones. While I’m partial to Bluetooth wireless types, I’ll truthfully say being tethered to your device will give you better quality every time. So if you’re looking for that, SIMGOT’s EM-2 Hi-Res IEM Earphones are just that.
The EM2 by SIMGOT is a blended IEM featuring a dynamic driver and a balanced driver. While I haven’t had an opportunity to check out the previous EM1’s, however just from the looks along, they are virtually identical.
You get a host of accessories with the EM2’s including a sweet leather case featuring the company’s logo which I now travel with in my everyday carry. Aside from the EM2’s, you also receive two cards with silicone eartips, one giving you more bass enhancing tips if that’s your thing. Since I enjoy my bass, I opted for those eartips and honestly, they are phenomenal. But for this review, I wanted to try using both and do a slight comparison of the two in terms of sound, and trust me, there’s a bit of difference that you wouldn’t imagine.
In regards to the Tips that aren’t bass-enhanced, I felt like they worked so much better listening to podcasts, as well as more mellow music and sounds. Listening to Lucky Daye’s album, I felt as though there was enough soundstage that I wanted to listen at a reasonable level for hours on end. However when listening to music with the enhanced bass tips, I felt as though the natural sound didn’t nearly as nice for obvious reasons, but there certainly was enough boom that every possible hip hop track (even the terrible ones by that rapper BlueFace Baby sounded) “pretty decent.
With the EM2’s overall comfort is a delight though regardless of the tip thanks to a unique design that sits flush in the ear, giving a more balanced sound (regardless of the tip) that will sit without moving. SIMGOT refers to their highlight features as:

In terms of the sound isolation, I have to admit, it’s impeccable. I have used them over the past few weeks to monitor and record my podcasts almost exclusively (even over over-the-ear headphones) so I can hear every detail, from plosives with ease.
If there was one thing I would say I could actually change, would have to be the cable for the EM2. While it’s lengthy if you’re listening to your phone’s audio and have it in your pocket, that’s fine. But if you plan on doing any actual monitoring, say from a computer, audio interface or the like, you should be mindful they are not that long at all. Aside from that, the build quality is amazing, and the audio quality is even better than that. But you know what makes these a great purchase? The price at currently $115.99, is an absolute steal.
