Some time ago, Tejas was sent a pair of $20 Bluetooth wireless over-the-ear headphones. During a conversation with the Gear Diary team, he raised the question of how they might stand up to far more expensive headphones. It was a good question. So… we got the New Jersey members of the team together to find out.
Carly, Perry, and Tejas came over the other night. Armed with a bottle of bourbon costing far more than the $20 headphones in question, we put four pair of headphones up against them. Those headphones included:

The process was simple. We each took a turn being blindfolded and listening to three pair of headphones. Each time, the $20 headphones were one of the three. After listening we each rated them from 1 to 3. The results speak for themselves. Each time… well… let’s allow the video to explain.
The bottom line? $20 headphones feel and sound like $20 headphones. They aren’t about to win any awards but there is a place for them… just not in my home.
