A few months ago we wrote about Austere, a new A/V accessory company. Austere Describes their products as delivering “more than what’s expected, from design to performance.” Their products are pricey but look great. After that post, Judie and I had a chance to check out their offerings; we were impressed.
As the company explains in their launch release,

In addition to making reliable products that work efficiently and will last a long time, Austere wanted to develop products that were a bit more aesthetically pleasing. As the company founder and CEO explains,
There is a massive gap in the technology accessories category, where the choice is either ubiquitous products that easily break and underperform or overly extravagant, antiquated accessories. At Austere, we’re equally passionate about performance and style and believe there’s a tremendous need in the accessories market for accessible products where these ideologies intersect. That’s why we’ve created Austere, from the packaging to the in-store displays to the products themselves, with intentional design and minimalistic style that deliver spectacular performance.
The first offerings from Austere are available. They include the company’s III Series HDMI 2.0 Cables, cables, III Series Clean and protect and more.
Their V Series Power and Protect outlets, the products I’m most interested in checking out, are expected to be released at the end of this month.
And while Austere products are certainly in the “premium” category from both a quality and a price perspective, I couldn’t agree more when they note, “Dated accessories that aren’t sexy and don’t reflect what customers want are over. Cheap accessories that break or disappoint have no place in this market.”
