We love the way that Withings keeps adding value to their smartwatch line, and the Withings Move ECG is the latest iteration here to help you track your steps, sleep, exercise, heart rate, and your ECG.
The Withings Move ECG is an analog watch that syncs and works in tandem with the Withings Health Mate app on both iOS and Android. Make no mistake about it, the Move ECG is a medical grade device; it is also the world’s first analog watch to record an electrocardiogram (ECG) on-demand. It’s just received it’s CE marking for medical devices and will now be available in Europe.
Built into the Move ECG is a state-of-the-art ECG feature that will easily and affordably give you the power to monitor your cardiovascular health to detect atrial fibrillation (AFib), a major heart disease, at any time.
The Move ECG has three electrodes; two are discreetly integrated inside the main body of the watch and the third electrode is built into the watche’s stainless steel bezel.
If you experience a racing heart or palpitation, you can push the side button and touch both sides of the bezel “to start recording an electrocardiogram anytime, anywhere, similar to a single-lead ECG. After 30 seconds of measurement, Move ECG vibrates to notify users that the reading is complete. The electrical signal is then analyzed via a proprietary algorithm that has been developed with cardiologists and trained using thousands of ECG signals so that it can detect irregular heart rhythm.”
The Withings Health Mate app will keep a history of all of your ECG readings along with any notes you record about comments or symptoms that hit when you took the reading. You can share the collected data with your doctor through a generated .PDF — this is a watch that could actually save your life!
And yes, of course, the Withings Move ECG will track your sleep, steps, and exercise for syncing with the Withings Health Mate app.
Move ECG is available on Withings.com and Amazon for the price of €129.95/£129.95. You can get it with a black or white watch face, and you’ll also be able to personalize it with a variety of wristband colors. We’ll get the Withings Move ECG in the U.S. sometime in Q4, once it’s received FDA clearance.
