One of the coolest things about being a kid in 2019 is the tremendous number of opportunities to learn more about coding. It helps kids learn about logical reasoning, plus it helps them understand the basics of computers. Robo Wunderkind is aiming to combine coding with LEGO to make an even more fun educational tool!

Robo Wunderkind is currently on Kickstarter, offering up two starter kits, Robo Coding Saga and Robo Coding Saga Unlimited. Both kits give you basic blocks, wheels, lights and controllers, but the Unlimited kit has more pieces and also includes a motion sensor. No matter which kit you choose, you also get adapters to add LEGO pieces to your robots, so you can have robot-driven LEGO Star Wars vs Ninja Turtles battles (we’re in a bit of a crossover phase here at my house).

One of the coolest things about Robo Wunderkind is that it grows with the kids. They can start with simpler coding games, but as they learn more the app has more complex options, to the point where you can even pair it with Arduino and Python to get really creative. The Kickstarter backers get early bird pricing ranging from $79 to $299 depending on kit and backer level, so be sure to check out their project ASAP!
