Our long national nightmare is finally over — Sonic the Hedgehog has been redesigned. We no longer need to fear the uncanny valley of human teeth, sneakers, and no pants; see for yourself!
This trailer looks almost … charming? It’s a lot less creepy than the prior one, and the redesign looks really good! Mostly, I’m just trying to reassure myself this won’t be too bad because I 100% know I’ll be dragged there opening weekend by my son. I just hope the animators, who no doubt had to work incredibly hard to undo nightmare Sonic, got paid adequately for their work … and were paid adequately for the hazard of having to be that close to Jim Carrey channeling peak 90s.
