Roku has a plan for that, with “Roku TV Ready” partnerships, assuring consumers their experience will be as seamless as possible.

Roku Heads One Step Closer to Television Domination

There’s plenty of interest from television manufacturers, as Roku announced they already licensed 15 brands to make Roku TV models in 2020. Roku provides a general hardware reference and the Roku TV operating system, and the manufacturers work from there. The idea though is that any television offering Roku TV would include certain features, like Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound, controlling the Roku through Alexa and Google Assistant, and Roku search.

ATVIO, Element, Hisense, Hitachi, InFocus, JVC, Magnavox, onn., Philips, Polaroid, RCA, Sanyo, TCL, and Westinghouse are already planning Roku TVs, and Roku OS is the number one licensed smart television system. Roku already commands around 30% of the streaming market, and this type of initiative is only going to increase their market share!
