Ooni is back with another crowd-pleasing pizza oven for the masses with a much larger version of their popular Ooni Koda capable of baking 16″ pizzas in around 60 seconds.  You may remember our glowing reviews of the Ooni Koda, Ooni Pro, and more.  The Ooni Koda 16 is gas-powered and designed with home chefs, street food vendors, and professionals in mind.

The Ooni Koda 16 is now available for preorder at $499, and from what I’ve seen from Ooni in the past, it’ll be worth every dollar for the pizza enthusiast.  The Ooni Koda 16 is designed to allow you to bake everything from Neapolitan-style to New York-style pizzas in your backyard.  The oven will be ready to bake in within 15 minutes of turning on the gas, and you’ll be able to bake your pizza in less than 2 minutes, thanks to the incredible heat that the Koda 16 will put out.  We’re told it is designed to reach 932 degrees Fahrenheit.

Kristian Tapaninaho, Ooni CEO and founder, said:

“We truly believe in pushing the boundaries of the innovation behind our pizza ovens. After the success of our gas-powered Ooni Koda pizza oven in 2019, we could see there was a massive interest in cooking with the convenience of gas-powered flames as well as a desire to be able to cook bigger pizzas, such as New York-style pizza. We’re proud that Ooni Koda 16 delivers both those possibilities in an impressive design that’s fully portable and so easy to use.”

The Ooni Koda 16 features an insulated, powder-coated solid steel body with a 16″ cordierite baking stone inside as the floor.  Using a simple knob to control the flame intensity, you’ll see the built-in flame keeper direct a waterfall of flames onto your dishes for an efficient cook with constant heat.  It’s an exciting product, and I’m going to enjoy cooking on it for sure.

Stay tuned to Gear Diary, where we’ll bring you a hands-on review once the Ooni Koda 16 is available to the public.  In the meantime, you can head over to Ooni.com to see for yourself.
