If your charging brick has become a dead weight, don’t feel that you have to continue packing it! The Aukey Omnia 100W PD Wall Charger is a smart and affordable upgrade. At just 2.3″ wide by 2.3″ tall by 1.3″ thick, The Omnia 100W is tiny, powerful, and perfect for travel.

The Aukey Omnia 100W PD Wall Charger is a solution for those of us who need to stay mobile; rather than lugging around a charger that’s twice the size and weight, you can keep this little guy in your bag and leave the brick at home. A USB Type-C cable isn’t included, so you’ll need to make sure that the cord you pair with it is capable of handling the speeds that your device requires for proper charging.

The package includes the Aukey Omnia 100W PD wall charger, a user manual, and warranty information (that has an Aukey logo sticker on the back).

The wall charger’s body is composed of matte white molded plastic; it feels sturdy, and it weighs 5.1 ounces. There’s a foldable plug built into the backside, so you don’t have to worry about snagging an exposed prong on anything when the charger is in your bag.

On the front, there is a Type-C port and an LED light that will glow white when it is plugged into the wall and receiving power. The Aukey Omnia 100W PD Wall Charger uses a proprietary Omnia chip, which delivers fast charging that adapts to your plugged-in device’s charging needs.

Unfortunately, I do not have a 16″ MacBook Pro to test it with, but Aukey specifically mentions that it will power that laptop at full speed. I have, however, tested it with the Huawei MateBook 13, the 14″ Lenovo Yoga C940, and the 14″ Lenovo IdeaPad S940, and it worked perfectly with each. It also delivered fast charging for the LG V60, the OnePlus 8 Pro (not Warp 30T speeds, but it’s fast enough), the Pixel 4 XL, and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

One thing worth noting is that Aukey explicitly mentions that it does not support 45W fast charging for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, and the same appears to be true for the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. This isn’t that surprising when you considerer that Samsung put in place a series of hoops for charger manufacturers to jump through when they created these two phones. To supply 45W fast-charging to the Note 10+ and the S20 Ultra, the charger must support PPS (Programmable Power Supply), it must provide a 10V/4.5A charging speed, it must also support PDO (Power Delivery Objects), and you have to use an e-marked USB-C to USB-C cable. Like OnePlus, Samsung has what (at least for now) might as well be a proprietary fast-charging system, which means that if you want the fastest charging speeds for the Note 10+ or the S20 Ultra, you’ll have to buy their $49.99 45W wall charger. The Aukey Omnia 100W PD Wall Charger will, however, charge those Samsung devices at speeds up to 25W, which is speedy enough.

If you want to get the fastest charging possible on your device, it is wise to use an OEM cable, like the one that your most power-hungry device came with, to make sure that the Omnia can deliver the fastest speeds to your device. One of the charger’s built-in safety features will automatically detect if it is overworking itself, limiting the output to 60W until the charger’s components cool down. Perhaps my only complaint is that the Omnia 100W charger only has one Type-C port on it, so it can only handle one device at a time. But if you are charging a portable battery pack with a free port on it, for instance, you could daisy-chain your device to the battery pack to charge more than one device at the same time.

For my needs, the Aukey Omnia 100W PD Wall Charger has been fantastic. I’ve run into issues before where a 65W aftermarket travel charger I used successfully with the Lenovo IdeaPad S940 wouldn’t work at all with the Lenovo Yoga C940 — don’t ask me why! They are both supposed to charge at 65W, but perhaps the C940 needs a higher amperage. In any case, they both charge perfectly well with the Omnia 100W, and being able to leave the bulky OEM chargers at home has been worth the bit of experimentation it took to find a solution that works with both. If you have a laptop that uses USB Type-C to charge, the Aukey Omnia 100W PD Wall Charger will be a great everyday carry solution.

What I Like: Tiny, portable, and powerful; Adapts to charge with the proper voltage for just about anything you might plug into it — with the proper USB-C to USB-C cable for that device; Works with the MacBook Pro line, including the 16″ model

What Needs Improvement: High-power Samsung devices (the Note 10+ and S20 Ultra) will not charge at 45W, but this is due to Samsung limitations; There is only one Type-C port on this charger
