Anker is one of those brands that, even if you don’t think they make it, I can almost guarantee that they do. So when I heard that they’d be at CES this year with a host of never before seen products, my interest was already piqued. So exactly what does the brand have in store for 2021? Read on!
Anker Magnetic Series
If you managed to snag an iPhone 12 recently, you know that one of its biggest features is its ability to charge via Magsafe. However, the biggest problem with this is that not many third-party manufacturers have products or licensing for MagSafe. Luckily, Anker is one of the first to announce some MagSafe-compatible products, including cases, wireless power banks, and wireless chargers. The iPhone 12 cases launch this month for $20, while the power banks and chargers will launch later this quarter.
Anker’s cases not only will work with your MagSafe charger, but they can be paired with Anker’s Magnetic wireless power banks, which snap to the back of your iPhone for truly wireless charging. The Power Banks have up to 10,000mAh capacity and fit easily in your palm when not in use.
Anker has also announced wireless charging pads like the PowerWave Go 3-in-1 stand, one of the most versatile wireless charging stations I’ve seen NOT made by Noma. With the ability to charge your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch simultaneously, the PowerWave Go has a detachable 10,000mAh wireless pad for use on the go and a removable Apple Watch module that can be used with the portable battery to charge your Apple Watch anywhere. The PowerWave Go is expected to launch in March.
If you’re not a huge MagSafe fan, the PowerLine III Flow is a USB-C cable with a Lightning connector that can replace the flimsy cable that came with your iPhone. Anker states that these cables last 25x longer than ordinary cables, and they are proven to withstand 25,000 bends. The cable has a new silica gel texture, and it comes in a variety of new colors; they are MFi certified for compatibility at optimal charging speeds. Available this month for $21, you can pick them up directly from Anker or through Amazon.
Regardless of whether you’re working from home or on the go, Anker’s PowerExpand 5-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Mini Dock promises to charge laptops up to 85W while also transferring files at up to 40Gbps. If you plan on using an external display, the PowerExpand can power a single display up to 8k@30Hz and a dual display for up to 4k@60Hz. Its slimmed-down profile is made of metal with striped grooves that enhance heat dissipation, complete with Intel Thunderbolt 4 certification. The PowerExpand 5-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 Mini Dock will launch in February for $199.99.
EUFY
L80 & L80 Hybrid
Anker’s Eufy robot-vacs also continue to get better with each iteration, and there’s no better proof than the L80 and L80 Hybrid — deemed eufy’s “smartest robotic ever.” Complete with A.I. Map technology 2.0 the enables customized cleaning in multiple rooms and floors, the new iPath technology calculates the most efficient route for cleaning. If you live in a multi-level home, the internal sensors detect stairs, navigate out of trouble spots, and keep your valuable safe. Hopefully, this means it will not eat up my iPhone cable I accidentally leave dangling off the couch!
With a larger dustbin and ultra-flow technology for suction, it has a 57.6% improvement of sucking of small particles like pet hair. One distinguishing difference here is the L80 Hybrid is the only unit that can do both vacuum and mop functions. Available in March, the L80 will cost $549.99 while the L80 Hybrid sits at $599.
eufy Security Smart Lock Touch & Wi-Fi
If you aren’t a fan of Ring’s privacy woes over the past year, or you’re just looking for a better way to protect your home, look no further than eufy’s latest smart lock. With the ability to control the lock anywhere from the eufy app, this pair has many fantastic features. Some of the ways to access entry into your place include rapid fingerprint recognition, smartphone, keypad, or original key for your place.
If you want to, you can use Alexa or Google to ask them to open the door for a guest. eufy’s lock is safe and secure with a Bank-Grade Security: AES 128 + security chipset, and internal sensors to detect when the door is closed, and it will automatically lock. Proven to lock and unlock over 250k times, the lock has a 365-day battery life and an IP65 waterproof rating. Available in February, the eufy Security Smart Lock Touch & WiFi will cost $249.99.
NEBULA
Nebula Solar Portable & Solar
The Nebula has been one of my favorite cinema projectors, mainly because it’s one of the few that comes with Android TV. Complete with over 100k apps, both Nebula projectors have a 1080p image quality with a projection distance of up to 120 inched (diagonally) at 10.5 socially distance feet away. This means you can be in your backyard, or even in your home and watch crystal clear Netflix, HBO Max, or Disney Plus with ease.
The Nebula also can be controlled through the Nebula app, or you can plug a USB thumb drive into it for your own personal home movies. With a three-hour battery life on the Solar Portable, the Solar model does not include a battery but promises the same great true cinema experience. Both models will cost $599.99 and $519.99, respectfully.
