Samsung Galaxy Book Pro Series Debuts Promising Portability, 5G Connectivity, and Long Battery Life

Have you ever wished that your laptop was more like your smartphone — truly portable, always connected, and with enough battery life to get you through a full day? That’s the promise being made at today’s Unpacked event where the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro series was introduced.

Taking inspiration from mobile design, Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptops are thin and light yet durable with bodies made of 6000-series aluminum. Each has built-in 4G LTE and 5G connectivity, and they are WiFi 6E ready, so no matter where you choose to use them, you will always be able to get connected.

While their super-slim long-lasting battery is being touted — Samsung is saying that the Galaxy Pro series can get up to 20 hours of video playback and up to 16 hours of work or play — the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro series will also have 65W fast charging for quick top-offs — up to 8 hours of video playback from just a 30-minute charge.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro series will be Samsung’s first laptops with AMOLED displays, just like we’ve seen on their mobile devices and wearables, with eye care certification and an intelligent color engine that will optimize your viewing experience based on what you are doing onscreen.

These laptops will have Evo platform verification with 11th generation Intel Core processors and Intel Iris Xe graphics. The Galaxy Book Pro series will take advantage of an intelligent performance manager to do everything from modulating fan noise, temperature, and battery usage while adapting to your computer position, environment, and system load for a smoother, less laggy experience that will last all day. You’ll be able to log in with a fingerprint reader located on the power key.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Pro series will also introduce a re-engineered pro keyboard with a scissor mechanism coupled with wide keys that have 1mm of travel length and rubber domes for faster, more comfortable, and quieter input; there’s also a bigger, more enhanced touchpad.

From each of the models in the Pro series, you’ll be able to drive up to three external monitors; you’ll get one Thunderbolt 4 port, two USB Type-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone or microphone port, and a microSD reader.

Since we all have to spend so much time in virtual meetings these days, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro series will employ Studio Mode (which will help you and your surroundings look better on-screen) with a 720p HD webcam and dual array mics that will offer intelligent noise canceling to cut out ambient noise around you. These Galaxy Book Pro series laptops will also feature sound by AKG with Dolby Atmos.

And thanks to a partnership with Microsoft, the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro will work seamlessly with your other Galaxy devices; you’ll be able to use Second Screen to expand your display to a Galaxy tablet and use Link to Windows and Microsoft Your Phone you’ll be able to take calls, check notifications, access photos, answer messages and run up to five apps simultaneously from your smartphone directly on your laptop.
