MediaTek Announced Helio G96 and Helio G88 Chips to Make Your Next Phone Zippier!

It’s easy to get caught up in the idea that you don’t need to know what’s under the hood of your phone. It makes calls, and it takes pictures; what else do you need to know? But phones are the center of so much of our lives that getting the best bang for your buck matters, even if it’s not a flagship phone. And that’s why MediaTek has the new Helio G96 and Helio G88 chipsets.

MediaTek Helio G96

The Helios G96 chips will support 120Hz FullHD+ screens, up to 108MP main cameras, dual-sim LTE, and HyperEngine Lite 2.0 for improved gaming. On the more budget side, the G88 supports voice wakeups, 90Hz displays, up to a 64MP camera, and Dual 4G VoLTE. Basically, they’re covering almost everything you could want or need in a phone between the two.

Your eyes may glaze over, and you may be wondering why any of this matters. The thing is, there’s a lot of phones out there that aren’t a flagship device. And they’re all competing for the same dollars, but they’re not all the same in performance. If you know what MediaTek chips can offer, you’ll know you’re getting a better phone!
