Zavor Noir Skillet Set Review: A Quality Set of 10″ and 12″ Cast Aluminum Skillets with an Interesting Feature

The Lowdown

One cool trick that sets the Zavor Noir Skillet Set apart is that each pan allows you to remove its handle with a quick counter-clockwise motion. This is really handy if you have tight storage, and it also allows the pans to fit inside a dishwasher easily.

Overall
4.5

Pros

  • Matte black design is fantastic, and I feel like it will show less wear and tear over time
  • The price is modest for the quality of the skillets
  • Dishwasher safe and oven safe on top of having removable handles

Cons

  • Skillets do not come with sides or splash guards

Over the past few years, I’ve embraced how therapeutic cooking can actually be. I’ve also learned that while you can cook well with any tools, quality skillets make for quality meals. The Zavor Noir Skillet Set includes a set of cast aluminum 10″ and 12″ skillets that are good enough that you can finally throw out that skillet (you, know, the one with the flaking Teflon?) that you were gifted years ago!

My wife’s and my first cookware set was a cheap stainless steel set, and while it had a great surface area for cooking, it only lasted for about two years before the pans stopped distributing heat evenly. So when I received the Zavor Noir Skillet Set for review, I was pretty excited to see what using a quality skillet would mean for our cooking! I’m already incredibly impressed.

Aluminum pans are known for heating up quickly and conducting heat evenly. The Zavor Noir Skillet Set features a Whitford Fusion Ti ceramic interior, so it’s built to last for years to come. The pans are light and comfortable for everyday use.

Zavor states that the Noir collection is also oven safe up to 550º F, which means you can go right from pan-searing a good cut of meat to popping it in the oven to finishing — all in one pan. Be careful, though, and don’t forget your oven mitts when you go to grab the handle-less skillet. Side note – the skillets themselves are also compatible with induction bases for those who use that setup.

The Zavor Noir Skillet Set also comes with color options for the handles and grips (red, butternut orange, mint green, sky blue, royal blue, and purple) that you can match to your home decor. This is great for making your cooking more stylish, but it also has a more practical application. My mother is allergic to fish, so when she comes over for dinner, we already know which pan to use by the designated color of the handle, so there’s zero chance of cross-contamination ruining her dinner!

The Zavor Noir Skillet is also available in an 8″ model if you’re looking for something a little smaller.
