Whether you’re talking about exercise bikes, televisions, eReaders, security cameras, headphones, earbuds, fitness trackers, electric toothbrushes, or any of the many electronic items that we use every day, inside, there is a system-on-chip (SoC). The right SoC will not only power our devices, but it will also enable them to connect to the necessary networks so they can properly work without us ever giving the process a second thought. With today’s announcement of the MediaTek Filogic 130, Filogic 130A, and Filogic 330P, you’re going to be hearing about MediaTek SoCs in even more places.

MediaTek Filogic 130 and Filogic 130A

Both the MediaTek Filogic 130 and Flilogic 130A integrate a microprocessor, AI engine, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 subsystems, and a power management unit into a single chip. The MediaTek Filogic 130A takes it a step further by also integrating an audio digital signal processor so that device makers can easily add voice assistants and other services into their products.

With both the Filogic 130 and Filogic 130A being designed to give excellent power-efficiency in “the smallest and lowest-power form factor,” the devices that utilize them can achieve Energy Star and Green Appliance ratings and certifications.

In the coming years, advanced connectivity technologies like Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 will become a must-have for smart home devices with the increasing need for more AI processing power, energy efficiency, and robust security. MediaTek’s Filogic 130 and Filogic 130A solutions offer the perfect combination of features to help drive this transition. Each solution has a highly integrated design that packs the latest on-chip processing and power-management technologies into an ultra-small design no bigger than the size of a thumbnail. – Alan Hsu, Corporate Vice President & General Manager, Intelligent Connectivity at MediaTek

MediaTek Filogic 330p

When you buy a new laptop or desktop, you’re probably looking at the processor specs. So you might be drawn to something because it’s rocking an AMD chip, but what you may not realize is that upcoming AMD Ryzen devices are going to be sporting AMD RZ600 series Wi-Fi chips using MediaTek’s Filogic 330p chipsets.

In non-technical terms, this means faster Wi-Fi, less latency, support for more spectrums, and better power consumption. Any way you slice it, you’re going to get faster, more efficient internet if your devices are paired up with the Filogic 330p! The processor, screen size, and other important specifications might hog all the credit, but behind the scenes, there’s a MediaTek chip making the whole package zippy!
