We covered the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform announced at the Snapdragon Tech Summit yesterday. Today, the flagship Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 and the entry-tier Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 Compute Platforms have just been announced. And now, computing on the go is about to get even more powerful, connected, and efficient!

Whether you’re working from home or starting to travel for work again, there’s the consistent expectation of speedier computing, battery life that just keeps on going, faster connectivity — the expectation that our laptops can be “always on, always connected.”

But that’s not always the experience we get, is it?

Qualcomm understands those expectations and is delivering on them with their flagship 8cx Gen 3 Compute Platform for use in premium, truly mobile PCs. This will be the

Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 delivers up to 85% faster CPU multitasking, up to 60% faster GPU performance, and up to 25+ hours of battery life! It also has every kind of connectivity you could imagine, including 5G, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi 6.

Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 Mobile Compute Platform has the latest generation of 3A —Autofocus, Auto White Balance, and Auto Exposure. Microsoft Teams and Zoom users can expect their video cameras to adapt to their movements and lighting changes with high-quality video for better calls.

Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 will provide perfectly clear audio in almost any environment, using Qualcomm Noise and Echo Cancellation technology, which are part of the Qualcomm Voice Suite. AI acceleration enhances this feature to improve the clarity and quality of call audio. 8cx Gen 3 will also offer enterprise-grade security, so you’ll be able to remain productive and sleep better knowing your data is secure.

Best of all, Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 clocks in at 5nm, which basically means they took an immense amount of transistor and computing power and made it tiny. It’s not the main factor in making your laptop computer thinner, but it certainly doesn’t hurt!

It’s not just the flagship devices that get all the accolades; an entry-level computer today runs circles around what would have been a flagship just a few years ago, and Qualcomm is raising the standard even more with the Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3.

The Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 offers up to 30% higher CPU performance than other entry-level platforms and can even have multi-day battery life in thin and light fanless laptops! This SoC can also swap between Wi-Fi and 5G with ease and offer instant-on responsiveness, so you just have to lift the lid and go.

Much like the more powerful 8cx Gen 3 mentioned above, the Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 offers up to 4K HDR and noise suppression for video calling. It also supports the Qualcomm AI Engine, allowing it to be more efficient and tune the hardware acceleration to your needs. Security is also integrated into the hardware, and support for 5G means there’s the potential for a much more secure option on the go than public Wi-Fi.

We’re conditioned to hear “entry level” and think of the old, thick, clunky laptops, but even entry-level can be shockingly powerful with the Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3!
