Samsung has announced its new gaming and productivity monitor lineup for 2022. Their new monitor portfolio is focused on bringing out the best experiences for users while they are working, gaming, or watching content at home. Each has different bells and whistles, and each takes monitor technology to a new level.
Pricing hasn’t yet been announced for these monitors, but here is what we have to look forward to later this year.
Odyssey Neo G8 (2022)
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 breaks new ground as the world’s first 4K monitor to feature a 240Hz refresh rate. Samsung says that the new tech packed into the monitor “opens a new chapter in gaming monitor innovation.”
The Neo G8 maintains the curved screen of the Odyssey 1000R and combines it with Quantum Mini LEDs, Quantum HDR 2000 with a 2,000 nit peak brightness, and a million-to-one static contrast ratio. Together, the technology promises to “bring out the most subtle details for increased world building and immersion.”
I recently bought a widescreen Samsung monitor and love it. I do, however, wish it mine had a curve like the Odyssey Neo G8’s!
Samsung Smart Monitor M8
At an ultra-slim 11.4mm thick, the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 is their slimmest Smart Monitor yet. This UHD panel not only delivers an excellent picture, but it is available in a “new warm white color that fits perfectly everywhere.”
The Smart Monitor M8 earns its “smart” moniker because it is not just a monitor. Instead, the M8 has Smart TV, and productivity apps baked right into the display. That means, among other things, that it can act as a SmartThings control hub. That’s right, with this monitor, you don’t even need a computer to control your smart home.
The movable magnetic SlimFit Cam is another cool new feature for 2022; it enables crystal-clear video calls when working from home.
In short, with the Smart Monitor M8, Samsung has found a way to create an excellent monitor that is no longer just a monitor. And they seem to have baked the “right” new technologies into the device rather than simply throwing as much random technology as they could at it. We’re excited to learn more and check one out in person.
Samsung High-Resolution Monitor S8
Available in 27″ and 32″ models, the S8 is Samsung’s latest High-Res monitor. It brings together professional-level UHD performance, and HDR 600 with the world’s first UL (Underwriter Laboratories) verified GlareFree monitor. A matte display placed on the top of the panel helps reduce light reflection lessening eye fatigue and minimizing distractions.
With each of these three new monitors, Samsung offers a look into the future of computing, making clear that the days of computer monitors just being screens is over. Keep an eye out for these new monitors here.
