This year is no exception, so whether you’re heading into 2022 thinking it’s time to up your laptop game, upgrade your monitors, or finally get that gaming setup you need to beat the neighbor’s kid in Fortnite, you’re set with Dell and Alienware’s bold and exciting new devices!
Alienware x17 shows off its internals
Anyone who knows even the slightest bit about gaming knows of Alienware. They’re extending their dominance in the space with a whole new lineup of monitors, computers, headsets, and mice.
Dell and Alienware know there are audiences for both power and portability, and they’ve updated the Alienware laptop lines that cater to each.
Alienware x14 utilizes the new hinge to keep things cool, powerful, and slim!
Alienware’s X-Series is designed for people who want a balance of gaming power and portability. Alienware X14 is their thinnest gaming laptop ever, and it features a specially designed hinge design that lets them pack cooling and long battery life in a reasonably lightweight package.
It comes in at a svelte (for gaming laptops) 0.57″, and only 4.08 pounds, yet still manages to offer up to 11 hours of HD video playback. It’s also the first Alienware to charge via USB-C; it offers Intel Core H-Series processors and a choice of Intel Arc or NVIDIA graphics.
If the idea of a portable gaming rig is exciting, but the 14″ screen size is a touch too small, you’ll be excited to learn that Dell and Alienware thought of that too, and also upgrading the x15 R2 and x17 R2 with new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics, improved memory speeds, an undated Type-C Thunderbolt 4 USB 4.0 port, and AlienFX stadium lighting.
The Alienware X14 will start at $1,799; the X15 R2 will start at $2,199, and the X17 R2 will start at $2,299 this winter.
Alienware M17 R5
Hardcore gamers aren’t forgotten in the mobile space either. Alienware M17 R5 is the most powerful 17″ laptop powered by AMD, with AMD Ryzen 6000 Series processors, AMD Radeon RX graphics, AMD FreeSync Premium technology, AMD SmartShift MAX, AMD Smart Access Memory technology.
Alienware Cryo-tech keeps the whole package cool, so you can game without fear of overheating no matter how hard you’re going. In addition, you’re getting Dolby Audio and Dolby Vision so everything will look and sound amazing, plus an optional CherryMX mechanical keyboard for that satisfying clickiness.
If 17″ is a touch too big for you, there’s also the mid-range 15″ Alienware M15 R7, which features either AMD Ryzen processors or an Intel Core-H series processor. Both will have an updated Type-C Thunderbolt 4 USB 4.0 port.
The Alienware M17 R5 with AMD will start at $1,599, while the M15 R5 with AMD will start at $1,499, both coming this spring. The Intel M15 R7 starts at $2,099 this winter.
Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor
When you’re gaming at home, you’re going to want the best monitor experience you can find. Enter the Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor, a complete mouthful of a title with impressive features behind it. This monitor offers Quantum Dot technology plus OLED for lifelike views and bold colors.
It also sports a curved screen with a .1ms response time, 175Hz refresh rate, and NVIDIA G-SYNC ULTIMATE certification. The Creator Mode preset lets you tweak the color presentation, while blue light protection means your eyes won’t get too fatigued while sitting and playing for hours.

Dell XPS 15 Plus
Dell’s XPS line has always been their flagship, and this year’s new Dell XPS 15 Plus takes all the things that already make the XPS stand out and refines them to a new level of style. They’re calling this a “simplified” style, but that’s somewhat deceptive, as they’ve done quite a bit under the hood to create edge-to-edge screens, maximize the keyboard space, make the function keys capacitive, and create a streamlined touchpad with haptic feedback. Finally, it offers rapid charging that will get you to an 80% charge in one hour!
The overall effect is of a sleekly minimal computer, but with no wasted space anywhere in the design. The up to 4K screen also has EyeSafe to reduce blue light strain so that you can admire your new computer screen without eye fatigue. Best of all, the new XPS will come in 100% recyclable packaging with only paper materials, which is a small but concrete step towards reducing our carbon footprints.

It features echo-canceling dual-array microphones, Microsoft Teams certification, a SafeShutter to allow for privacy between calls, and a 4K resolution that will show each of your team members in all their high definition glory.
