The Lowdown

The OneAdaptr OneWorld 65 is a smart item to own if you travel regularly. I’ve been keeping it in my backpack because I’ve found that the OneWorld 65 is just as convenient to use when out and about or traveling domestically as it is when traveling abroad. But when traveling overseas, I don’t have to worry about packing a compatible power strip for the country I’m visiting, nor do I need to remember to pack a bunch of extra chargers or adapters; I just need a few cables and the OneWorld 65.

Overall
5

Pros

  • Compact and sturdy build
  • Acts as an AC multi-port
  • 65W USB Type-C port will fast-charge your compatible laptop
  • Two USB Type-C and Type-A ports on the bottom allow the potential for charging of up to six devices

Cons

If you travel internationally, you know the #1 rookie mistake is arriving at your destination and finding that you either forgot that country’s correct adapter or you didn’t bring enough adapters for all of your gear. I recently traveled to Berlin for IFA, followed by a week in Spain. I only brought two adapters with me, the OneAdaptr OneWorld 65 for charging all of my gear and a basic US to EU adapter that was kept attached to my curling iron’s US plug. Thankfully, this proved to be the perfect setup.

The OneAdaptr OneWorld 65 is a 10A universal AC power outlet that pops out the proper international wall outlet plugs so that it can be used in over 200 countries. The OneWorld 65 uses GaN Technology to offer a 65W Type-C charging port with power delivery and quick charge. Almost every modern laptop, except those with the largest displays, seems to require a 65W USB Type-C charger anymore, so you can see how it might be pretty handy.

But the OneWorld 65 also offers two more Type-C charging ports, two Type-A charging ports, and a multi-port wall outlet. You could use it to charge up to six devices at once. However, as we’ll discuss, that might not always be the best way to manage your power.

The 65W charger, a microfiber storage bag, and a user manual are included in the box.

The OneAdaptr OneWorld 65 measures approximately 3.1″ tall by 2″ wide by 2.1″ deep, and it weighs 6.3 ounces. Its body is composed of matte white plastic with light blue accents. A multi-socket can accept a US/AU, UK, or EU plug on the front.

The sliding bars on the left side reveal the corresponding wall plug when you slide them one at a time to the left.

On the back of the OneWorld 65 are two fuse silos with blue plastic covers; the one on the bottom is the active fuse, and the one above is a spare. I haven’t had a surge resulting in a fuse blow-out occur, but it’s thoughtful they included the “just in case” backup fuse if you were ever to have that happen.

The ports on the OneAdaptr OneWorld 65

USB-C1 is on the right; it is the 65W Type-C port you’ll use when fast-charging your compatible laptop.

With only one 65W Type-C port and the AC input, the OneAdaptr OneWorld 65 would already be pretty handy, as it could power two power-hungry devices without issue. However, two more USB Type-C and two Type-A ports are on the bottom.

Theoretically, you could charge up to six devices simultaneously, and there might be times when you’d want to do that. Still, the main thing to remember is that while the AC input can handle 100-250V on its own, the 65W that USB-C1 offers will also be distributed to the other USB ports if something else is plugged in.

For instance, USB-C1 will drop down to ~45W when you plug something that draws up 15-20W into USB-C2, which are the two ports that offer PD and QC. If you plug anything else into the other USB ports, the wattage will be further shared amongst the ports.

While this shared 65W wouldn’t be ideal for charging a laptop, it is just fine for simultaneously charging smaller electronics like tablets, smartphones, gaming devices, battery packs, and headphones.

If you don’t mind traveling with your laptop’s charging brick, you could plug it into the multi-port and fast charge your computer while also charging five other devices via USB. I didn’t want to bring a separate charging brick on my trip, so managing the 65W was something I kept in the back of my mind when deciding how and when to charge my various devices.

You can see that the various international plug configurations pop out when you slide left on their corresponding buttons. The US and Australia have a similar outlet design, but you have to kick out the bottoms of the two prongs to take it from US to AU, which is easy enough to do.

Having access to the four most popular world plug configurations in a single charger/adapter is very handy. For instance, while I was waiting in the British Airways lounge at LHR, I might have been out of luck if I’d only brought an EU adapter; with the OneWorld 65, I had a UK adapter charger on me and was good to go.
