Massage guns have flooded the market in the last few years, and for good reason: they’re a compact way to break up sore muscles and aid with proper recovery. It’s a crowded space, and as a result, it’s the little things that make one device stand out over another. We received a Bob and Brad Q2 Mini Massage Gun to test. Does it rise above the sea of massagers to be the one for your muscles?

First, here is a bit of background on Bob and Brad: They’re physical therapists who design various workout and recovery tools based on their knowledge of physiology. They sell various devices, including suspension trainers, resistance bands, pull-up trainers, and, of course, massage tools for recovery.

They call themselves “the most famous physical therapists on the internet,” which is a hard claim to quantify.

The Bob and Brad Q2 Mini Massage Gun is positively diminutive compared to some massage guns we’ve reviewed. It clocks in at a svelte 1.5 pounds and is size-wise around the same length and a touch wider than my Pixel 8 Pro.

The majority of the body is solid, with the only moving parts being the massage head, the power button, and the levels indicator along the back of the handle. It feels incredibly solid in your hand and is very ergonomic and pleasant to hold.

Swapping massage heads on the Bob and Brad’s Q2 Mini Massage Gun is super easy and very fast. Like all massage guns, it’s just a friction fit, but after I had to take pliers to one massage gun to swap the heads, it’s notable when they slide on and off easily!

The whole package also comes with a carrying case that holds the various massage heads, a pouch for the manual, and a USB-C charging cord (hooray for USB-C!).

The massage heads are the usual suspects: flat head (for all body parts), ball head (for large muscle groups), air cushion head (for more sensitive/sore spots), and u-shape (spine/neck/shoulders/sensitive or sore areas).

They also throw in two extra rubber sleeves in case repeat use wears down the sleeves that hold the various heads in the massage gun.

They’ve also put up a video on their website further demonstrating the various massage head options:

The Bob and Brad’s Q2 Mini Massage Gun has five intensity levels so that you can attack your muscles gently or with fury. It’s super easy to cycle between them by just hitting the power button, and if you’re the type who never knows when to stop (and/or worries you left the curling iron on), there’s a 10-minute cut off so, you can’t overdo it or leave it running indefinitely.

To be fair, it’s very quiet, but you’d probably notice it vibrating on a table. My one quibble is that the lack of a screen means you can’t tell at a glance whether it needs a charge; you have to go by the LED changing colors when you turn it on.

The Q2 Mini Massage Gun is $69.99, with a $10 off coupon currently available at Amazon. $60 is a great deal for any massage gun, and this one is a steal at that price.
