The alerts and video/audio quality are exactly what you need to feel safe, and the combination of the solar panel and 4G LTE capability ensures you never run out of power, and you can install it almost anywhere. The spotlight ensures you can see clearly at night and might even scare intruders away; two-way audio allows you to communicate if necessary.

We’ve covered many Eufy security cameras here at GearDiary, but none are as versatile as the Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330. It can connect to the internet via WiFi or 4G cellular and is powered by an included solar panel. It’s a great option for remote installations where power and WiFi may not be available and retails for $249.99.

The Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 is an extremely versatile camera with a ton of features that make it a serious candidate for “jack of all trades.”

Not only can it connect via WiFi, but it can also use 4G cellular. It can be powered by solar by day and battery by night. It features a 4K Ultra HD camera with 8x zoom and the ability to pan and tilt to follow the source of a motion notification. It even has a 100-lumen spotlight to see in color at night up to 26 feet away.

In addition to all of the above, the Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 can store video clips in two ways:

  1. Through expandable local storage using the included 32 GB microSD card or an expanded 128 GB card
  2. On a HomeBase installed in your home while connected via WiFi

The beauty of Eufy HomeBase is that you can save your videos locally, but there’s no risk of losing them if the camera itself is vandalized, stolen, etc.

Whether you’re using expandable local storage or HomeBase, you can still avoid the costly cloud storage fee that many of Eufy’s competitors charge.

Installing the Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330

Solar-powered security cameras are perfect for installation in your backyard, driveway, side yard, or anywhere else you may want to keep watch over your property where you don’t currently have power installed.

We installed the Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 on the side of our house where we don’t have power, where we had previously tested another Eufy camera that required a power cable.

The power cable was frustrating because it had to be run about 20 feet across the house, strapped to the house, and the power plug took up a scarce resource: an outdoor power receptacle.

The fact that we could replace that camera with the solar-powered Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 was a godsend and totally removed the headache of needing to be plugged in.

If I have one quibble with the Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330, it’s that that I wish there was an option to connect the solar panel to the top of the camera instead of needing a second mount.

In our testing, the Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330 performed admirably. The video is very clear, even at night. Speaking of night, the solar panel, while not pointed directly toward the sun, keeps the battery full enough to last throughout the night and during multi-day cloudy conditions.

We keep our S330 connected to WiFi via our HomeBase and love that it keeps all of our recordings safe locally without any monthly subscription costs.

The Eufy 4G LTE Cam S330’s AI Tracking feature is wonderful. We can track someone walking across our lawn from the garage camera to the front door camera to the side yard camera.

If anything happens in front of my house, I can rest assured that my Eufy cameras will capture it all. Even if the WiFi goes out, the camera can switch to 4G mode, which is really neat.

The Eufy 4 G LTE Cam S330’s ability to pan, tilt, and zoom up to 8x really enhances its functionality.

Standard single-view cameras are great, but the ability to follow movement or even just manually check a different angle is a game changer. Not to mention, setup is super easy—scan the QR code on the back of the camera to add it to your Eufy account, mount the camera and solar panel using included screws, and you’re good to go!

I’m a huge fan of Eufy’s security camera system and highly recommend it if it fits your requirements.
