The OPPO Find X9 and Find X9 Pro are here, and they’re clearly meant to prove something. These aren’t phones you pick because you’re bored with your current one; they’re the kind you buy when you want to feel like your phone could probably run a small planet. With a 200-megapixel Hasselblad telephoto camera, a 7,000-plus mAh battery, and a design that looks like it belongs on a coffee table book cover, the Find X9 Series isn’t subtle about its intentions.

A Camera That’s Always in Your Pocket and Isn’t One You’ll Regret

Smartphone makers love to throw around big numbers, but OPPO’s partnership with Hasselblad isn’t just a name-drop. The Find X9 Series camera system feels designed for people who actually use their cameras. The Find X9 comes with three 50-megapixel lenses, anchored by a Sony LYT-808 main sensor that captures 57% more light than before. In other words, you’ll finally be able to take indoor photos that don’t look like they were shot through a glass of milk.

The ultra-wide lens doubles as a macro camera, which is great for photographing anything from the latte art you didn’t really want to drink to the intricate stitching on your new bag. The telephoto lens uses a Sony LYT600 sensor, giving you crisp zoom shots that don’t turn grainy the moment you pinch in. And OPPO didn’t stop there; they added a “True Color Camera,” a dedicated sensor that measures ambient light so your photos look more like the scene in front of you and less like a guessing game of white balance roulette.

Then there’s the Find X9 Pro, which is clearly where OPPO flexed its engineering muscles. Its upgraded Sony LYT-828 main sensor captures multiple exposures simultaneously, so even those high-contrast moments, like a sunset behind a skyline, retain all the detail you’d expect from a proper camera. But the real attention-grabber is the 200-megapixel Hasselblad telephoto lens. The idea of a 200MP smartphone camera might sound like overkill, but in practice, it’s the difference between a distant blur and a concert photo you’ll actually want to share. It can even focus at 10 centimeters, which means you can shoot macro photos that make your favorite food blogger’s pictures look timid.

The whole system runs on OPPO’s new LUMO Image Engine, which quietly handles all the behind-the-scenes math that makes your photos pop without making them look fake. It consumes half the power of its predecessor and processes images faster, allowing for impressive 4K Motion Photos. You can even extract individual frames as stills that are detailed enough to pass for proper photos.

OPPO Find X9 Series at the Concert

If you’ve ever tried to photograph a concert only to end up with a blur of lights and a speck that might be the lead singer, OPPO’s thinking of you. The Find X9 Pro’s 200MP telephoto camera can zoom in up to 13.2x without noticeable loss in quality, while the brand’s “Super Zoom” algorithm pushes that all the way to 120x if you’re feeling ambitious. OPPO’s Stage Mode tweaks the contrast and tone for low-light scenes, giving you shots that look cinematic rather than chaotic.

For video, both models shoot in 4K at up to 120 frames per second using Dolby Vision HDR. The Pro’s telephoto camera also gets in on the action, meaning you can switch between lenses without your footage looking like you just jumped dimensions. If you’re into post-production editing, the phones even record in LOG format, which gives you a neutral, flexible file for professional color grading.

And because someone at OPPO clearly wanted to test the limits, there’s a Hasselblad Teleconverter available for the Find X9 Pro. It turns the phone into a 10x optical zoom monster that can push up to 200x digital for photos and 50x for video. You probably won’t need that much reach, but then again, neither did anyone who bought binoculars for the Eras Tour.

All That Power Needs Serious Battery Life

The Find X9’s 7,025mAh battery would already be impressive, but OPPO apparently didn’t think that was enough. The Find X9 Pro packs 7,500mAh, the largest in any OPPO flagship so far, inside a body that’s still comfortably slim. The secret is a Silicon-Carbon Battery design that increases capacity without turning your phone into a brick. OPPO says the battery will retain over 80% of its original capacity after five years of regular use. In other words, this phone might outlast your attention span for your next upgrade cycle.

Charging is predictably fast, with 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and even reverse charging in case you want to top up your earbuds or someone else’s phone out of pity.

A Design That’s Sleek, Durable, and Surprisingly Practical

The Find X9 Series looks expensive without being flashy. The flat-edge design feels solid and balanced, while the nearly invisible bezels make the screen look endless. The 120Hz display peaks at an eye-scorching 3,600 nits, meaning you can finally read your screen on a sunny day without ducking into the nearest shadow like a vampire.

Color choices lean modern and refined: Titanium Grey, Space Black, and Velvet Red for the Find X9, with Silk White and Titanium Charcoal for the Pro. Both models have matte aluminum frames and fingerprint-resistant glass backs, which means they’ll stay smudge-free even after a day of heavy scrolling.

Durability isn’t just a footnote here either. With IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, these phones can handle dust, immersion, and even high-pressure water jets. Basically, they’ll survive the kind of spills and splashes that would send most flagships into early retirement.

Under the Hood: Smart Power and Smarter Software

Running the show is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip, built on an efficient 3-nanometer process. It promises faster performance and better power management, which is especially useful if you game, stream, or multitask like you’re allergic to closing apps. OPPO and MediaTek collaborated to refine performance through what they’re calling the Trinity Engine, which intelligently prioritizes resources so the phone stays fast without draining its battery or overheating.

ColorOS 16 debuts here too, and while Android skins can often feel like too much of a good thing, this one adds genuinely useful touches. There’s an AI Recorder that automatically summarizes notes, an AI Portrait Glow feature that fixes lighting in selfies, and O+ Connect, which lets you control your Mac or PC remotely. You can even mirror up to five apps on your computer screen and use a mouse and keyboard to interact with them, which sounds like the kind of thing you don’t think you need until you realize you actually do.

Pricing and Perspective

The OPPO Find X9 starts at €999 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model, while the Find X9 Pro with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage goes for €1,299. They’ll be rolling out globally in early November.

OPPO’s Find X9 Series is fast, it’s capable, and it’s thoughtfully designed in ways that actually matter day-to-day. It doesn’t need to shout about being a “game-changer.” It just quietly shows up ready to handle whatever your day (or your night at the concert) throws at it.
