TCL has an impressively deep portfolio of products, but the area where they’re head and shoulders above the rest is in their screen technology. From phones to televisions, you know you’re getting a display like no other if it comes from TCL. But they’ve really outdone themselves with the new TCL X11L SQD Mini-LED television lineup, which promises colors and audio like never before!

TCL X11L SQD Mini-LED TVs Debut with OLED-Like Blacks, 10,000 Nits Brightness, and AI-Powered Google TV

The TCL X11L series is designed to be the best of two worlds: the depth of black you get from OLED and the brightness of LED. TCL promises up to 100% of BT2020 color, which sounds impressive, but it’s ok if you have zero idea what it means; that’s what we’re here for.

Basically, when you’re looking at colors on a TV, they’re displayed as combinations of red, blue, and green (RGB). BT2020 is a measurement of how much of each is coming through, so the theoretical limit for the SQD Mini-LED is perfectly generated colors.

So that’s the ideal, but it doesn’t always come through because streaming services may not provide perfect resolution, you might have tweaked brightness or other settings, or maybe your eyes are getting old, so you just can’t appreciate that level of fine detail. The result, however, will still be a shockingly bright and clear viewing experience, where brightness doesn’t mean giving up on true color sharpness!

TCL manages this by combining that color experience with 20,000 dimming zones and 10,000 peak nits of brightness. This way, you can adjust your view to what works best. Maybe you want the brightness off, and the color contrast higher while you watch a show with color symbolism like Plur1bus, and a brighter experience while you watch sports. Thanks to the SQD Mini-LED, you can have both!

Now, it’s 2026, so you don’t have to manage that alone. AI is along for the ride in two ways — there’s a TCL Super Resolution AI processor to handle sound, as well as scaling visuals appropriately. And there’s natural-language AI, thanks to Google TV with Gemini. Still typing out the name of the show you want to watch? That’s so last year, now you can just ask the TV for it!

Audio is being boosted thanks to Bang and Olufsen, and there’s an optional wireless subwoofer that can be added to really drive things up a notch. And if you’re really looking to create a full home theater experience, you can always add on TCL Dolby Atmos FlexConnect Speakers. The only thing missing from the real movie theater experience is the fake butter smell and the sticky floors.

This type of entertainment isn’t cheap, though; then again, neither is going out to the movies. The TCL X11L will be available for preorder in three sizes: 75″ starting at $6,999.99, 85″ at $7,999.99, and 98″ at $9,999.99.
