Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard Review: This Is A Surprisingly Simple, Yet Extremely Handy Tool At Work!

Chaotic is probably the best way to describe my work desk on a good day. That includes several notebooks with varying degrees of usage and not much rhyme or reason. Several months ago, I started seeing a new desktop whiteboard from a company called Fluidstance that looked intriguing, and recently they approached Gear Diary with an invitation to check out the Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard. Having already done some research into their product, I jumped at the chance to check it out further.

Features

Opening the Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard box, this is truly a simple, well-designed product. Also made in the United States, which I was pleasantly surprised to see. The Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard is a single piece of formed steel that is then powder coated to give it a finish suitable for use with dry-erase markers.

The desk contact points are felt-covered, so it won’t scratch or mar your desk if that’s a concern.

The silicone phone holder slides firmly into place and does a good job of securely holding a phone. Not included in this review, but it looks like they also have an upgrade option with a wireless phone charger included in the phone holder.

I can’t include pictures of use at work without potentially making the security folks grumpy, so I had to do some basic mock-ups for visualization purposes only. You can see them below.

How Did the Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard Do?

Using the Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard for several weeks was great and gave me a simple productivity boost. The powder coating is very solid, and I didn’t see much residual shadow left over after several write-and-erase cycles.

The included Flow cards are a neat little accessory. They’re portable, and with the back covered entirely with felt, I don’t really have to worry about scratching any surfaces. They also let me grab one and take it into a meeting instead of relying on a notebook that will just get lost in the shuffle on my desk. You can also keep some at home, and they easily stick to the fridge.

Another nice design feature of the Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard is that you can slide your keyboard underneath it when you need more desk space for other things. Most standard keyboards should easily fit below it, making it a nice addition to the rest of your laptop gear.

Final Thoughts

I have really enjoyed using the Fluidstance Slope Desk Whiteboard. It’s unobtrusive yet simplifies my desktop and allows me to clear out some of the paper clutter that naturally accumulates. It also puts my notes directly in front of me and keeps them from being forgotten in a closed notebook somewhere. I definitely recommend the Slope and think it’s a solid addition to my desktop.
