Whether it’s combating insurance companies or just monitoring the driving of new drivers, dash cameras are incredibly useful tools. The 70mai A810 Lite 4K Dash Cam is a small but very full-featured dash camera that has held up very well over the past month of usage in some very sunny and hot weather and multi-state road trips. This is the second dash camera I’ve owned, and it has been a solid performer.

The 70mai A810 Lite 4K Dash Cam package I received came with everything you need to get up and running. It also came with a 4G Hardwire Kit that provides cellular coverage and power to the devices while the car is off. I’ve seen issues with DIY installations of hardwire kits like this where they create small vampire drains on the battery, so I wasn’t able to implement that part for the review.

Design and Features
The layout and design are very intuitive and easy to understand. Navigation of the internal menus is fairly straightforward, and the phone app can also do everything that I was looking for.
The rear camera is small and unobtrusive and comes with a very long included USB-C cable.
The main camera itself measures 0.96″ by 3.58″ by 1.81″, and it weighs only 9.76 ounces. The screen is only 3.18″, but it works well for me since I’m not paying much attention to the recording itself. Given that it attaches via a cling film, it’s definitely a good thing that it’s not any heavier.
Installation
My first attempt at the 70mai A810 Lite 4K Dash Cam install didn’t turn out well because it just would not stay up. I think that’s partly because I was too impatient and didn’t prep the surface well. My immediate recommendation would be to make sure the inside of the glass is clean and that the film doesn’t have any bubbles or adhesion issues before sticking the camera to it.
The included cables on the 70mai A810 Lite 4K Dash Cam are more than enough to connect everything, but I don’t know what to do with all the excess and routing cables; where they are out of the way, it’s difficult to keep them from coming loose. To me, that’s a common issue across many dash cameras I’ve seen if you are a DIYer and don’t like paying for installation.
Installation of the rear camera is similar to the front. You place cling film on the glass, and the camera has a strong 3M adhesive that sticks to the film. This camera is a bit smaller and very light, so it’s easy to attach.
See It in Action
The quality of the video and the data captured by the device is impressive. It captures date, time, GPS location, and speed. In the phone app, you can review footage captured from both the main front camera and rear extended camera.

Final Thoughts
All said and done, the 70mai A810 Lite 4K Dash Cam is a great little dash camera to add to your car gear collection. It has a small footprint on your windshield and isn’t a distraction. The video quality of both front and rear-facing cameras is excellent. Cable management can be tricky for dash cams, but it gives you several tools to help out, and if needed, I’m sure an install shop can get things set up very quickly. I definitely recommend this as an option if you’re in the market for a dash camera.
