Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer Review: A Countertop Multitasker That Earns Its Keep

Counters. We all have them in our kitchens. And universally, space on those counters is always at a premium. When considering what will take up that valuable space, the utility of whatever that is comes into heavy play. The new Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Over Air Fryer checks a number of boxes, earning it a coveted place in our kitchen. Let’s look at that it has to offer.

What’s in the Box?

The toaster oven comes with an air fry basket, a baking pan that doubles as a drip tray, a wire rack, a removable crumb tray, an instruction and recipe manual, and a quick-start guide.

Let’s talk about its looks. In my opinion, it simply looks good. The design is clean and contemporary. Here it is, fresh out of the box with the info decals still on the front.

After removing the stickers and plugging it in, the subdued flat-panel touchscreen came alive with the unobtrusive power button on the left.

Touching the power button turns on the Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven. The display lights up, and the selected cooking mode flashes. I can’t show flashing in photos, but in the following image, I’ve selected “AIR FRY”.

The left side holds the power button and all the different cooking mode buttons.

The middle shows the current cooking options, like time, temperature for most cooking modes, slices, and shade (for toast), etc. The lightbulb button turns on the interior light. That is a great feature, since you can check on cooking without opening the door.

The clock and thermometer icons are buttons that let you change the left and right options. For example, in TOAST mode, the clock button lets you change the slices from 1-2 to 3-4 to 5-6. You hit the clock button, and then the “-” or “+” button to change the value. In other cooking modes, it lets you select the cooking time.

Likewise, the thermometer icon lets you change the toasting shade. In other cooking modes, it lets you select the temperature.

The right side holds one-touch cooking mode buttons for wings, fries, veggies, and chicken nuggets. The start/stop button is on the far right.

The Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven’s interior is shiny steel and looks almost surgical. You can also see the door overhang. There is a lip that extends above the toaster when the door is closed. This acts as a handle for opening and closing the door. It stays cool to the touch and makes it easy to open and close the toaster oven, even after extended use. The door opens fully, making access to the inside of the oven simple without twisting and turning.

The crumb tray slides in under the lower heating elements.

 

In case you are directionally challenged, the Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven’s two tray position slots are cleverly labeled “UPPER” for the upper slot and “LOWER” for the lower slot.

Here is a look at the general-purpose wire rack in the lower slot. It can hold up to six slices of toast or toaster waffles.

Here it is in the upper slot. The instruction manual suggests the correct position based on different food types.

The Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven’s air fry basket is generously sized.

You place it in the upper slot, with the baking tray in the lower slot to act as a drip tray.

The baking tray is also quite large. It slides in directly without the need for the wire rack.

 

But How Does It Cook?

Baking

Good looks and nice features are great, but if an oven doesn’t cook well, it’s a waste of space. I’m happy to report that this Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer cooks like a dream. We started out with my wife’s corn cake. The ample space in the oven let us use a stone cooking pan. It cooked perfectly, with the added benefit of not heating up the kitchen with the full-size oven.

Burgers for five? No problem. The burgers cooked quickly and came out juicy and tasty.

Toasting

We already had another toaster oven air fryer. I had hoped that it would replace our toaster, but no. Why? It was so slow at toasting that it was borderline infuriating. I am happy to report that while the Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer is still slower than our toaster, it is only marginally slower. It blows the traditional toaster away if you’re trying to toast six slices or oversized bread. Plus, it does an amazing job on toast, toaster waffles, bagels, and everything else we’ve tossed in there. Look at this beautiful toast!

My only complaint is that the wire rack has a small lip that makes it a bit of a pain to remove the toast. It’s a minor quibble.

It was equally impressive with toaster waffles.

Air Frying

Our first attempt was tater tots for five. The big air fryer basket worked perfectly for the load.  As you can see, we forgot to put the drip tray underneath, but the tots didn’t create a mess. We sure won’t make that mistake when we try wings.

Since then, I’ve toasted a lot, cooked a frozen pizza, and reheated food, and the Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer has handled everything we’ve thrown at it perfectly.

Care and maintenance

All the inserts – the wire rack, crumb tray, and basket are dishwasher-safe, making cleaning a breeze. The smooth metal interior makes cleaning the oven itself simple.

Final Thoughts

Like I said earlier, our counter space is limited, so anything that earns a permanent spot has to justify the real estate. The Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer does that by doing far more than the occasional batch of fries. It bakes, toasts, reheats, roasts, broils, and air fries well enough that it can handle many jobs that would otherwise require turning on the full-size oven.

Just as importantly, the Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer is easy to use, roomy enough for family-sized portions, and good-looking enough that we do not mind leaving it out. The interior light, straightforward controls, and dishwasher-safe accessories all make day-to-day use a little easier. The wire rack lip is mildly annoying, and a traditional toaster is still a bit faster, but those are small complaints compared with everything this oven does well.

For us, this won’t be one of those countertop appliances that gets shoved into a cabinet after the novelty wears off. The Cuisinart 10-in-1 Digital Toaster Oven Air Fryer has earned its place in our kitchen, and I expect we will use it nearly every day.
