The summer travel season is fast coming upon us. In fact, here in Columbus we have a day in the 80’s predicted already! While it’s still not warm enough to go swimming, when you do finally take the plunge you may want to take this with you.
The Beach Buoy by Morifica is essentially a special purpose heavy duty ziploc bag with a velcro enclosure. To make sure your device is protected from rain and splashes, you insert the phone or iPod into the bag, seal the Ziploc-like seal and fold it such that only the green dots are shown and seal it with the Velcro.
Put the device in.
Seal the Ziploc-like seals.
Fold down once.
Fold down twice, and then pull the Velcro up to seal.
We had a particularly wet week here in Columbus, and I was able to put the Beach Bouy to the test. The G1 made it through unscathed, and I was even able to use the phone’s touch screen and buttons while it was in the case, but the trackball and keyboard were useless.

What I liked: Protects from splashes and rain very well. Even though it says waterproof to 16 feet, I would NOT take this in the pool. However, at poolside your phone is protected.
What needs improvement: I would like one with 2 pockets or one larger than this with a divider in the middle.
