Home Gear Review: Larry G Checks Out The BottleMate

I drink a lot of microbrews. One of the challenges anyone who does often faces is the dilemma, “is it a twist-off or not”. The last thing you want to do on a hot summer afternoon is struggle to get the top off your ice cold beer. With the BottleMate there isn’t even a need to guess. The BottleMate is touted as the world’s best bottle opener. It claims to easily and effortless open bottles in a manner that will have your friends bowing in amazement.

The BottleMate fits over the top of most bottles and in one swift motion you press down to remove the cap. The inner mechanism even houses a magnet which “keeps” the cap for you.

A single BottleMate runs $9.95 but the price decreases if you buy more than one. The BottleMate can be branded too making it perfect for corporate outings, golf events, bachelor party gifts etc.

I tested the BottleMate around my home over the last week and found it’s claims to be quite accurate. I have yet to come across an easier way to open a bottle. But don’t just take my word for it. “Larry G” has also been using the BottleMate around his “turf” and he’s ready to weigh in with his colorful opinion.

The folks at BottleMate were kind enough to send along two extra openers so we’re happy to give them away to a couple of Gear Diary readers. To enter leave a comment below and tell me your favorite beer. In a week or so I’ll randomly pick out two names and send each a BottleMate.

You can learn more about the BottleMate by visiting the company’s website here.  They are currently running a special on custom printing.
