Dodge has chosen the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to introduce its new expansion of Beats by Dr. Dre Audio System that will be coming soon to 2012 Charger models.

“Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine have built their careers on revolutionary and forward thinking decisions that formulate trends in music, popular culture and technology,” Reid Bigland, President and CEO – Dodge Brand. “Our goal in partnering with Beats by Dr. Dre is to integrate their recording-studio quality audio experience for our Charger enthusiasts to feel and hear their favorite music as it was intended – all while heightening the street performance and technology assets of the new 2012 Dodge Charger.”

The new audio system is debuting simultaneously at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and at CES this year with demonstrations available at both venues.

The engineering team at the Chrysler Group worked side-by-side with Dr. Dre and Iovine to tune the new 10-speaker system.

Beats by Dr. Dre audio systems first appeared in the new 2012 Chrysler 300S models and now expands as standard equipment on 2012 Dodge Charger R/T and as an upgrade with certain packages on other Charger models.

The system is controlled via the Uconnect Touch 8.4 touchscreen display in the center of the dash. This controls the 12-channel amplifier that integrates the heart of the Beats proprietary equalizer algorithm to create the high-definition sound Dr. Dre and Iovine bring from the recording studio to the 2012 Dodge Charger.

Beats by Dr. Dre-equipped Chargers should begin arriving in dealerships nationwide over the next few months.
