MindShift Gear’s Contact Sheet - an Item Photographers Will Want

Mind Shift Gear Contact Sheet

If you are an outdoor photographer, you may find times when you need a clean, dry place to lay out your gear. MindShift Gear’s new Contact Sheet lets you do just that. Pull out the lightweight tarp and you have a place to work anywhere you go. It is $39.99, and it is available here.

Mind Shift Gear Contact Sheet

MindShift Gear, a new company founded by the creators of Think Tank Photo and conservation photographer Daniel Beltrá, are ready to make a splash in the photographic accessory market. Their first accessory product (they also have two photographic backpacks available — more on them soon) is the multi-purpose Contact Sheet. A 3.5’ x 5’ ultralight, waterproof ground tarp, the Contact Sheet was designed for photographers who work in wet or dirty environments and need a clean, dry work area on the go. The tarp is made from a mixture of 30D Ripstop PU and Nylon mesh and quickly provides a barrier from the elements. Since the Contact Sheet weighs just 5 ounces and can easily be stuffed into a mesh pouch, it is easy to take along with you and just as easy to remove and use.

As the company explains,

Our multi-purpose “Contact Sheet” is designed for photographers who work in wet or dirty environments and need a clean, dry work area. The ultralight waterproof fabric provides a barrier from the elements. The 3.5’x5’ ground tarp stuffs into an included mesh pouch so it stays out of the way until you need it.

The $39.99 Contact Sheet is a simple idea that can be a big help. And while it is designed for outdoor photographers I can see it coming in handy in lots of other ways as well, providing a clean, dry surface anywhere you might need one. It is a great example of the way in which simple items can make a big difference. Check it out here
