Sanofi Aventis is recalling ALL Auvi-Q injectors due to a potential flaw that may prevent medicine from being injected properly. They will reimburse you for the costs of the competitor’s replacement, so save your receipts.

No one has died as a result, but if you’re having an anaphylactic reaction you don’t want to worry whether or not your epinephrine is being injected. If you have a reaction before replacing the Auvi-Q, use it anyway and immediately call 911. It’s better to use it than not use anything, but you should replace it ASAP.
