Some time back I reviewed the eve mattress. It is a great mattress that belongs to the growing number of “bed in a box” offerings that can be found on the internet. Raina and I sleep on the review sample every night. When the company offered a review sample of their pillow, I jumped at the opportunity. Here’s a look.

The company takes time on the website to explain why they decided to offer a pillow in addition to their fantastic mattress. The explains:

Like the mattress, the eve pillow comes directly from the company. This cuts out the middle-person and, in the process, makes a high-end pillow a bit less pricey. And, like the mattress, the eve pillow arrives compressed in a box and vacuum sealed inside. In fact, the pillow actually comes compressed and rolled up. When it arrives you simply open the box, unwrap the eve pillow and let it get some breathing room.

The pillow is made from a core of contouring memory foam. This “next-generation memory foam” is used because it contours to your neck and body and, in the process, relieves pressure points. The company also claims that it will, in the process, boost circulation while you sleep.
Holes drilled into the core are intended to provide both coolness and breathability. The idea is that the holes “mean you’ll get that ‘cool as the underside’ feeling… on both sides” of the pillow. That is definitely my experience with it.
In addition, it is worth noting that the material used to create the core is hypoallergenic. Eve also hits it with their “UltraFresh treatment.” This is designed to fight off bacteria, mold, and mildew.
The exterior of the pillow is made from a durable jersey fabric. This washable cover is soft to the touch and, thanks to the fact that the material the company uses is knitted rather than woven, it has a bit of stretch to it for added comfort.

The pillow is fairly large, measuring 16.5” x 26” and weighing in at a surprisingly significant 3.7lbs. It will fit inside a standard pillow cover of 20”x27″ or 20”x30″.
Like the eve mattress, the eve pillows has a firmness level that is best described as “medium firm.” The company chose this degree of firmness because it contours to one’s sleeping position while simultaneously “pushing back” to offer comfortable support. The result is a pillow that is intended to be comfortable for all different types of sleeping positions. In other words, whether you sleep on your side, your back or your stomach this pillow should be one you find to not only be comfortable but should help you wake up with less morning stiffness.

All of that is great but what about actually using the eve pillow to sleep? Well, I’ve been using it since it arrived for review a few weeks ago and I love it. The pillow is large and offers plenty of cushioning. The memory foam shapes to my head making it a comfortable place to rest for the night. At the same time that it molds to my head, it also offers plenty of support. That’s a good combination. In addition, while some memory foam pillows and mattresses can make out feel hot a sweaty the design of the eve pillow actually works to keep things at a comfortable temperature. In short… I’m a fan. What Needs Improvement: Nothing. Some may want to buy a budget pillow but they aren’t comparing apples to apples (the way eve would?)
