You might remember my Nomad Leather Folio for the iPhone 7 Plus review; well, if you loved the idea of a Horween Leather wallet case for your phone, but you happen to have the beautiful new Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, you’ll be pleased to know that there is a Nomad Leather Folio Wallet just for you!
The Nomad Leather Folio Wallet is a stunningly beautiful case made of brown Horween leather with even light tan stitching. It measures 6.4″ tall by 3.2″ wide by 0.5″ thick, and it weighs 2.9 ounces so it will not add a lot of weight or bulk to your Galaxy S8+.
If you are unfamiliar with Horween leather, this is what you can expect to see after months of using the case. It will scratch, it will stain from your hand oils, and it will eventually gain a uniquely beautiful patina; this is a feature and something to look forward to as it happens.
The interior of the case has three ID or credit card slots (each can hold up to two cards) and a long slender open pocket that is perfect for folded bills or receipts. The holster that holds the SG8+ is made of Dow Dupont polyurethane that is rigid yet soft to the touch. It surrounds the phone with dips where the power and volume buttons are, and while it covers every corner, there is a nice wide cutout on the bottom that exposes the speaker, microphone, sync & charge port, and the 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also a perfect cutout for the rear camera and LED flash.
Unfortunately, I do not own a Samsung Galaxy S8+ (much to my chagrin), and when I went to the AT&T store to see if I could at least take photos of theirs in my case, I learned that all of their phones are tied down with huge locks on their backs, so … unlike most of my write-ups, I’ve had to resort to using the photos from Nomad’s site showing how the phone fits in the case. Bah.
Even so, I can tell you that the Nomad Leather Folio Wallet is beautifully made; it will be the perfect convergence of a slim case and wallet for those who don’t want to carry both.
