The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have arrived, and the iPhone X is available for pre-order later this week. I have to say, while I’m excited for the higher-resolution screen of the iPhone X, I’m most excited to have an iPhone that finally has wireless charging built-in. That’s where the $59.99 Belkin BOOST UP will come in handy.
While the charging base will work with any device designed for use with Qi chargers, it is specifically fine-tuned for iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X, so your phone won’t overheat or shut down prematurely. The charging base weighs 3.88oz and the included power supply weighs 4.09oz.
A small, unobtrusive circle of white plastic, the charger is designed to work simply and easily. You just place a phone with Qi-charging capabilities on it, and the device will begin to charge.

Since I’m still waiting for the iPhone X to be released, I don’t have a new iPhone with wireless charging yet. So to test out the Belkin POWER UP I tried two things. First, I pulled a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge out of the closet and placed it on the charger. It immediately began charging the phone.
Then I pulled out an Incipio GHOST Wireless Charging Adapter featuring a built-in Lightning connector and cable.
I connected my iPhone and then my iPod Touch to it and placed the adapter on the Belkin BOOST UP pad. The light came on immediately, and both devices indicated that they were charging. The charging pad worked both times perfectly, and it quickly became clear that this will be a great accessory to use with my iPhone X when it arrives.
