Need a classy-looking portable speaker that can also function as a light? Take a look at the LG XBOOM 360. Made to radiate sound in all directions for up to 10 hours when on battery power, the LG XBOOM 360 is one of the more sleek and stylish portable speakers we’ve seen.
Inside the LG XBOOM 360’s conical-cylindrical body, there is a 5.25″ glass fiber woofer and a 1″ titanium horn tweeter; LG says that the reflector structure of the tweeter and woofer will deliver 360 sound with minimal distortion indoors and outside.
Available in four colors, including Burgundy, Peacock Green, Beige, and Charcoal Black, the LG XBOOM 360 has a built-in metal handle on the top that makes it easy to move when needed. The durable fabric cover over the interior speakers allows you to match the speaker to your room if you’ll be keeping it inside. Heads up, though — depending on when you order and what market you’re in, you may be limited in color selections. LG says that Burgundy is available now; Peacock Green will be available on September 20th, and the Charcoal Black and Beige will be available on November 20th.
On its own, I’d say this speaker looked great; adding in the 360º mood lighting with three different presets and customizable lighting options and sound effects when you use the companion app makes the LG XBOOM 360 even more interesting. Using the app, you can access the DJ Effect feature, which allows mixing multiple samples, scratching, and other sound effects. I am not sure how often I would use that feature, but it’s here if that’s your cup of tea.
The LG XBOOM 360 is made from recycled plastic and other post-consumer materials; as such, it’s earned Eco-Product certification from SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA of Switzerland — you can feel good about your purchase!
The LG XBOOM 360 measures 20.2″ tall by 9.84″ wide and 9.84″ deep; it weighs 12.8 pounds. It will connect to your device via Bluetooth, USB 2.0, or aux-in. If you need a bigger sound, then you can even link two of them together. The only thing missing is an IP rating, so you’ll probably not want to use it next to your pool.
