Gear Games Review: Everything You Need to Know About Madden 12 for iPhone/iPad in a Single Image

Late last night I spotted Madden 12 HD in the iTunes App Store, and like the impulsive fool I am … I bought it. I had planned to run through a full and thorough review of the game, but instead spent a few hours trying to be sure that I wasn’t actually still playing Madden 11! This afternoon I came across the review at TouchArcade … and it really sums things up perfectly. All they did was take their review from last year and make a few cross-outs and changes:

‘m kind of at a loss as to what to do with EA’s Madden 12 [$6.99 / HD]. I mean, a game like Madden we sort of need to review, but I’ve spent a considerable amount of time with the game and honestly couldn’t even say what’s different between Madden 11 and Madden 12 aside from adding one more to the numerical suffix, redesigning some menus, and updating the roster. So, I’ve just updated our Madden 11 review:

And it isn’t just me and TouchArcade – the deepest praise PocketGamer could muster was “There are definitely some redeeming qualities to Madden NFL 12.”

Redeeming pretty much tells you there are serious offenses that require redemption … like being basically the same as last year’s game. And one that performs worse.

So … if you bought Madden 11, save your money. If not, and you are looking for a Madden iPad fix head to the iTunes App Store and grab it for $9.99. It isn’t a bad game … it just failed to make any significant changes from last year.
