I had a few meetings the other day, and as I was heading out for them, I was struck by how little I was actually bringing with me. I was further struck by the fact that despite how little I was bringing with me for the day, I STILL had everything I needed.
Yes, everything I needed for my meetings was held in my Timbuk2 X-small Quickie for Tablets 2011, and I had tons of room left over. (The 2012 version is here.) In fact, there was almost nothing actually IN the bag.
So what did I bring with me? I had my phone (currently an HTC ONE X, because my iPhone 4S went up on eBay in preparation for the new iPhone), my wallet (the Flipside 2X- read the review here), my keys, my new iPad, the LunaTik Touch Pen (read the review) and… the Sena Florence Portfolio for the New iPad (Read the review.)

This is a bit of a change for me. Previously, were I having a meeting with a family in preparation for a life-cycle event, I would have brought my iPad, my Livescribe Smartpen and a portfolio holding the Livescribe pad of paper. With the Sena Florence Portfolio I lose the Livescribe functionality, but I still have both my iPad and a pad of paper and both are held in a thin, light and gorgeous leather portfolio. That meant I could take all of my notes on the paper, flip over to the iPad a few times when I needed to look something up and then, when I was back in my car after the meeting, use the camera on the iPad to snap a picture of my notes and save it to Evernote.
The result was a light, easy-to-carry mobile office that did everything I needed… and then some.
