Microsoft released this accompanying statement today as they announced the time for the reveal on the next generation Xbox console. The announcement date is May 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). That would be 1 p.m. EST. Spike TV will televise the announcement at this time while it also streams live on Xbox Live and Xbox.com.
This announcement date is ahead of this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which will occur from Tuesday, June 11 to Thursday, June 13, 2013. Microsoft will have plenty to share at this year’s expo as they take on the Nintendo Wii U and the upcoming PlayStation 4 (releasing “Holidays 2013”). Hopefully they will have these new consoles at E3.
Microsoft’s most current game console, The Xbox 360, was officially unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005. As of September 2012 Microsoft has sold over 70 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide. Will this new Microsoft console also release by the end of the year? We shall see.
