As we step into the first full week of summer, it’s time once again for the annual Trend Conference hosted by Ford Motor Company. This is the fourth such event that takes a deeper look into key global trends and issues influencing consumers – all consumers. Gear Diary will once again be covering the event that runs June 24-26.
In its first year, Trend Conference began with the title Forward with Ford and Judie attended. The forums, events and discussions looked at living a greener lifestyle, an aging population, youthful influence and global convergence on design, emerging technologies, safety for all ages and a peek inside the laboratories at Ford in Dearborn, Michigan where much of that “magic” happens.
This year the sessions will include Decoding Design, Sustainability Blues, Female Frontier and What’s the Big Deal with Big Data, along with the usual stopovers at Ford labs and test track facilities.
Being an automotive journalist, the event I always look forward to is the product day where Ford’s test track facility hosts invited guests to spend time behind the wheel of its newest product releases. While there is no mention as to which vehicles will be available specifically, one can only hope the much ballyhooed Mustang or alternative alloyed F-150 will be included in the mix.
Ford has already promised to kick things off with something new June 24th at 6 p.m. EST, so stay tuned to Gear Diary and its social media portals as we Go Forward and Go Further with Ford during what promises to be a really trendy week.
