Up Your Keurig Game Thanks to Starbucks Single Origin Coffees!

My second Starbucks Blogger Box arrived some weeks ago and it was a delightful package of Keurig K-Cups and coffee accessories. This time, however, Starbucks filled the box with their rare Starbucks Single Origin coffees from across the globe. They are delicious and, thanks to a coupon at the end of this post, you can save some money when you try them yourself!

GUATEMALA LAGUNA DE AYARZA

The first coffee I tried was their Guatemala Laguna de Ayarza. It has a rich flavor and offers “balance with lively flavor notes.” As the company explains

“This smooth, medium-bodied coffee thrives in the highlands of Santa Rosa, Guatemala, above a double caldera lake. The rich volcanic soils allow the beans to mature slowly as their delicate flavors become deeper and more complex.”

The coffee comes from Latin America at an elevation of 200-1,700 meters and is harvested from January to April each year. (How cool is it to know where the coffee comes from and have details about how it is grown and harvested?) According to Starbucks it pairs nicely with chocolate, citrus, and cinnamon. In addition to the K-Cup Packs I was sent you can get this coffee in ground form.

RWANDA RIFT VALLEY

The second Starbucks Single Origin coffee I tried was the Rwanda Rift Valley. It has spicy dark chocolate notes and a strong, pleasant aroma. As the company explains:

“This rich, medium-bodied coffee flourishes in the nutrient-rich soil–a stunning red in color–of Rwanda’s Rift Valley. We love the elegant flavor it delivers to your cup and the promising future it brings to Rwanda’s premium-coffee growers.”

It obviously comes from Africa at an elevation of over 1,500 meters. It is harvested from March to July and pairs well with orange, chocolate, lemon. It too is available as both ground coffee and K-Cup Packs.
