I wrote about the Kickstarter and early development of Legend of Dungeon, noting the title made me roll my eyes – but the trailer made me smile! I called it “a classic, lo-fi dungeon-crawling, rogue-like, real-time, beat-em-up, co-op romp that doesn’t take itself too seriously?” I’ve played some and it is fun, and now it’s available on Steam for $9.99!
Here is the basic description:
As you journey deep into the dungeon, you will find weapons, items, and long forgotten magic.. ..if you’re lucky, it might help you to fight off the droves of mysterious creatures you will encounter. There will be complete darkness to contend with, potions to quaff, secrets to discover, traps to avoid, hats to wear, and treasure that (if you make it out alive) will make you a legend.
Legend of Dungeon is a randomly generated action RPG Beat’em’up with heavy Rogue-like elements, striking visuals, and dynamic music.
As I said, I’ve had the opportunity to play around with the beta version and found it lived up to everything RobotLovesKitty promised! I even played dungeons on both a Mac and a couple of different PCs. I held off playing too much because I wanted to go into the review fresh. So I will be playing from the start again (and again) and planning a review for the next week or so.
