The Beastie Boys landed on the scene in the late 80’s with a massive boom, as their ‘Fight for your right’ became an MTV mainstay after it was released in late 1986 and the song remains fresh and popular today. The Beasties have scored loads of hits and stayed on top of the cross-over rap/rock game for the last 25 years with a fresh and light approach.

In early May their latest effort – Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2 – will be released, marking their first new material in several years, and their first release since MCA underwent surgery for cancer. Side-note: Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2 also carries pretty much everything from the in-progress Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1 that was supposed to be released a few years ago but was shelved to focus on MCA’s health. In anticipation of that release, they just unveiled the video for the first new single – Make Some Noise.

The video is significant for three reasons:

  • The song itself is an absolute blast! If this carries into the entire album, it will be a must-have!
  • The video starts as pretty much a postlude to ‘Fight for Your Right’. The trio stumble from the party room and hit the streets.
  • The video is absolutely teeming with cameos, including Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Ted Danson, Orlando Bloom, Jason Schwartzman, Chloë Sevigny, Jack Black and Will Ferrell … and many more!

So … let’s get right to the video!

Of course, it only makes sense to close with the original ‘Fight for your Right’ …
