Sarah and I went to Michael’s craft store this morning to shop for frames. As we walked in, Sarah received an email offering 25% the whole store tonight, so we picked out what we liked, and Sarah planned to return during the sale. When she got there, she discovered the frames she liked had mysteriously increased in price by 15%!
Here is the frame we saw at 10:30 this morning:
And the same frame during the “sale”:
Both labels show the same SKU. This is clearly the same frame, but pre-sale it was $3.00 cheaper than during the sale.
Here is the email advertising the sale:
Overall, a sneaky and slimy move by Michael’s!

Zek has been a gadget fiend for a long time, going back to their first PDA (a Palm M100). They quickly went from researching what PDA to buy to following tech news closely and keeping up with the latest and greatest stuff. They love writing about ebooks because they combine their two favorite activities; reading anything and everything, and talking about fun new tech toys. What could be better?

Michael’s is not the only one. I have some clear Christmas ornaments from Hobby Lobby that I decorate sometimes and they are the same size, same packaging, same SKU and two different prices.
Wow, that’s some chutzpah!
