NoiseHush’s i7 headphones noise cancellation function works wirelessly, using 2 AAA batteries to power the built-in external sampling microphone and speaker drivers that emit sound waves that work to counteract the external noise to create silence. It comes with a flat cable with in-line microphone and 3.5mm connector, a 3.5mm to ¼” connector jack, and a dual-plug adapter for those old-fashioned airplane audio connections. The package also comes with a protective case that will hold your headphones and has a small zipper pouch inside that will hold your cable and audio adapters.

The ear cups are made of soft leather with high-density memory foam inside that provides a truly comfortable wearing experience that I can definitely see being worn for a 3-hour flight. The cushioned headband is adjustable for differently sized heads and the ear cups swivel as well for storage.

In my testing, I found that the i7 headphones worked well to cancel out external noises as long as they weren’t too loud. When it came to loud noises, I was able to hear them, but the volume was definitely turned down due to the noise cancellation feature. I did not get a chance to test these headphones on an airplane, but I can imagine that the ambient engine noise would be greatly reduced, leading to easier reading concentration or better sleep.

Where the NoiseHush i7’s noise cancellation feature really shined was when I was listening to music with the included cable. Not only was the music quality very good while listening without noise cancellation, but with the noise cancellation feature switched on, it felt like I stepped into an acoustic chamber that kept out all other sounds and left me with the pure music as it was meant to be.

If you’re a frequent traveler, commuter, or someone who just enjoys silence, I can absolutely recommend the NoiseHush i7 Active Noise Canceling Headphones. They’re inexpensive compared to some of the “high end” brands but provide great audio quality as well as noise reduction!
