If rumors are correct, the next T-Mobile Uncarrier announcement could send shock waves through the mobile and cable industry. According to blogger and  smartphone device leaker Evan Blass, T-Mobile’s Uncarrier 10 announcement on November 10 is set to announce unlimited high-speed data for watching select streaming video services (think Netflix, HBO, etc).

Tmobile

This seems like a pretty big move for T-Mobile given that watching movies or TV shows on Netflix uses about 1 GB of data per hour for each stream of standard definition video, and up to 3 GB per hour for each stream of HD video. This can create headaches for Netflix members who have a monthly bandwidth or data cap on their Internet service.

If this rumor is true, removing data limitations on streaming video could also have an impact on cable services such as Comcast who have been quietly introducing data caps in some areas.

Uncarrier 10

For now, we’ll have to wait until November 10, 2015, to see if the rumor is true or whether T-Mobile has some other surprise in store for us.
