With Thanksgiving coming around the corning, you’ll probably want a nice sturdy bag to carry on your flight to visit your family if you’re heading out of town for the extended weekend. Why not get yourself the best weekender bag on the market?
The Poros Birch Weekender Duffle is quite possibly the best bag I’ve ever had in my life. Created by Poros, the weekender is a bag I’ve been reviewing for the past month, and it’s VERY handy.
If you’re hitting the road this Thanksgiving Season, this easily should be what you’re toting your clothes in. Made of ballistic nylon and brushed metal hardware, the bag oozes of high quality. At $269.00 it’s certainly not the cheapest bag I’ve ever used but you get what you pay for in this regard.
It’s only available in one color which might be a downfall to some, but honestly, it looks so good, it could’ve been Maroon and I still would love it. In all honesty the Nylon material holds up exceptionally well, and doesn’t scratch up like traditional leather weekenders you’d see on the market. So if you’re tossing this under the seat on your flight or even in the overhead compartment, you’ll be happy that other bags won’t dent up a bag you spent upwards of $200 for, which is good if you ask me.
The inside of the bag itself is where the magic happens. One thing I had yet to find in a weekender bag has to be a compartment for my iPad. If you’re like me, you carry around your tablet and have a terrible habit of throwing it and its cord in your bag, and spend way more time than you need to search for it. Well.. Poros thought ahead as they included a separate iPad sleeve so you never have to worry about attempting to search for it when the flight attendant tells you to find your seat.
Hammer + Awl even though so much about this bag, which is made in Seattle Washington, to include a bottom pocket for your shoes or dirty clothes. Because who honestly wants to put their dirty socks in with your clean clothes?
The icing on the cake for this bag, and why it’s my favorite bag right now is that the Poros Birch comes with its own FULLY INTEGRATED charging system which will power up your smartphone up to six times. The battery pack is already built into the bag so there’s no need to bring your own. This right here is PERFECT for any gadget freak who hates having to o many things to carry, and not enough wall outlets at the airport for them. This saved my hyde at the airport when I needed to quickly charge up my Apple Watch while my iPhone charged. The material of the bag didn’t scratch my smartwatch, and I felt secure knowing it was inside of my bag instead of sitting out in the open, which was a huge bonus.
Easily my favorite bag currently on the market, the Poros Birch by Hammer + Awl is $269, and if you’d like to find out more information, check out here.
